Jeremie Frimpong: "Bayern are a great team"

Jeremie Frimpong has said Bayern Munich are "a great team" amid reports linking him with the Bavarians.
Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong has responded to reports that Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on him.

"Bayern are a great team, but my focus is on Leverkusen and I'm very happy here," Frimpong told Sky Germany.

"I just want to win a title. I'm concentrating on this season because I feel we can do something big in Leverkusen. All my focus is on Leverkusen.

"But you never know what will happen in football in the future. There's always something going on in football. But at the moment I'm completely focused on Leverkusen."

According to the German media outlet, Bayern are one of a number of top clubs keeping an eye on the Dutchman's situation.

The 23-year-old, who reportedly has a release clause of €40-45 million, is expected to make a decision on his future by the end of April.

Whether he stays or not is currently up in the air, but Xabi Alonso's decision to stay on as head coach beyond the summer will certainly have an impact on his decision.
