Markus Schubert is expected to keep his place in goal for Schalke 04 when Alex Nübel returns from suspension, according to a report from Bild.

Schubert has started the club's last three games while Alexander Nübel has been out with suspension, and the report claims he is set to retain his place ahead of his competitor who will be joining Bayern München at the end of the season.

Nübel will be serving the last game of his four-game ban on Saturday, but will not be returning to the starting eleven if Schubert doesn't make a blunder in the upcoming game against Bayern.

Schubert, 21, joined Schalke from Dynamo Dresden last summer.
