Report: Jonjoe Kenny wants to stay at Schalke

Jonjoe Kenny would reportedly like to extend his stay at Schalke 04.
Jonjoe Kenny would like to stay at Schalke 04 beyond the summer, according to a report from Bild.

The 23-year-old has grown fond of the club and the city of Gelsenkirchen since he made the move to Germany on loan from Everton last summer. And the feeling is mutual.

"He has played a great season so far. Not only as a player, but also as a person, he's a perfect fit for Schalke. He's a hard worker, who gives 100 percent every game," said Schalke boss Jochen Schneider.

However, Kenny's loan deal doesn't include an option to buy, and Schalke would hardly be able to afford the signing of the full-back on a permanent deal, but it might be possible to extend his loan spell by a further year.

Kenny has made 26 appearances for Schalke this season, racking up one goal and three assists.
