Fantasy Bundesliga: 10 players to consider for Matchday 28
Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 28.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Joshua Kimmich and Erling Haaland.
Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 15%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 28.
Philipp Mwene, Mainz (Defender, 2.3M)
The Mainz wing-back remains a great budget option as Mainz approach match-ups against fellow relegation rivals FC Köln and Hertha.
Christian Günter, Freiburg (Defender, 11.8M)
Having proved himself as a valuable Fantasy asset over the years, Günter could be a great player to have in your team for the weeks to come. Freiburg have a favorable run of fixtures, and the 28-year-old has been tipped to play in an attacking wing-back role against Bielefeld on Friday.
Raphael Guerreiro, Dortmund (Defender, 17.1M)
Guerreiro was moved to an attacking midfield role last week, and although he's likely to be moved back to his usual left-back place, he might be worth his hefty price tag. The Portuguese international managed to rack up an impressive 14 points last week despite losing 1-2 to Frankfurt and is the second-highest scoring Fantasy Bundesliga defender this season, only behind Angelino, who is currently injured.
André Hahn, Augsburg (Midfielder, 5.6M)
The 30-year-old has scored three goals in his last five games and is now set to face a Schalke side that have conceded 71 goals this season. Hahn costs just 5.6 million and plays as a striker despite being listed as a midfielder.
Rolland Sallai, Freiburg (Midfielder, 8.9M)
With seven goals and four assists to his name in 22 games, Sallai's breakout season in the Bundesliga is fully underway. The winger has found the net in each of his last two matches and has some very attractive fixtures coming up.
Daniel Caligiuri, Augsburg (Midfielder, 12.1M)
Caligiuri could hurt his former employers this week as Augsburg take on crisis-hit Schalke 04. The 33-year-old has been a key player following his summer switch to WWK-Arena, notching up five goals and five assists in 27 Bundesliga games this season, and has the bonus of being on set pieces and penalties.
Marcel Sabitzer, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 16.3M)
With 'Die Roten Bullen' going into this week's game against Werder Bremen as huge favorites, Sabitzer looks like an intriguing pick. As his team's captain, the midfielder should be certain to play, and he has managed to pick up an impressive 25 points in his last two games.
Ansgar Knauff, Dortmund (Striker, 1M)
To the surprise of many, 19-year-old Ansgar Knauff made his first start for Dortmund in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City. Speaking ahead of Saturday's game with Stuttgart, Dortmund coach Edin Terzic singled the young winger out for praise, stating that the 19-year-old 'proved himself ready for further time in upcoming matches'. He also revealed that Knauff picked up a knock against City, but that the youngster should be ready to feature against Stuttgart. Whether Knauff will keep his starting place is unclear, but with a price of 1 million, he might be worth taking a punt on, although Fantasy Bundesliga managers will feel it's a shame that he's listed as a striker.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, FC Bayern (Striker, 9.4M)
With Robert Lewandowski still out, Choupo-Moting should start up top for Bayern once more. The former Mainz striker, who scored against PSG in mid-week, has a high celing and is currently owned by less than 1% of Fantasy Bundesliga managers.
Marcus Thuram, Gladbach (Striker, 15.5M)
After a rough handful of weeks, Thuram got back on the scoresheet with a brace against Freiburg last week, and the French striker will look to build on that performance against Hertha.
