Meise reports that the elder of the two active Boateng brothers has a medical set-up in the capital on Wednesday.
Assuming that the 34-year-old passes his medical, official confirmation of a deal should come on Thursday.
Club and player should have a deal signed on Thursday. Boateng will come home to Charlottenburg after departing for greener pastures 14 years ago. Hertha will secure his services on a free transfer, six days before his current contract with Serie B side AS Monza FC is set to expire.
