Official: Villa announce agreement to purchase Leon Bailey, Leverkusen reportedly get €30 million plus

Aston Villa have announced on twitter that they've hammered out an agreement with Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the transfer of Leon Bailey.

According to information from German footballing magazine Kicker, the German club secured a fee over €30 million that can easily rise to €35 with bonuses.
After having their initial offer reportedly rejected, Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly found a way to come to terms on the transfer of Leon Bailey. The Birmingham-based club announced that the deal was done on their twitter feed early Saturday evening with only a medical and the last details of personal terms with the 23-year-old winger.

Journalists on shift at German footballing magazine Kicker report that Germany's red company team got close enough to their original asking price of €35 million via negotiated bonus structures. Kicker journalist Maximilian Schmidt further speculates that Simon Rolfes and the Bayer administrative team will immediately get proactive as soon as the new funds are transferred, possibly completing the Sardar Azmoun deal.

Bailey joined die Werkself from Genk in 2017.

He scored 39 goals in 156 appearances across all competitions whilst in Germany.
