Harry Kane equalled Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps for England on Tuesday, when the Bayern Munich striker started and bagged a brace in a 3-0 win over Czechia.
Speaking in a post-match interview with ITV, Kane reflected on his future, saying he feels he has plenty more to give at the age of 33.
“125 caps? Beyond my wildest dreams. I hope there's still more to go. I guess only time dictates that. I still feel like I've got room to improve. I've just come back off my best season ever at 32 years old and right now I feel in an even better place,” Kane said.
“I'm not going to stop. I'm going to keep pushing and see where it takes me. Maybe in 10 years or so, we'll see where that ceiling is at.”
Kane’s brace on Tuesday also took him closer to another significant milestone: scoring 100 goals for England. The 33-year-old now has 91 goals for the Three Lions.
Asked if reaching 100 goals for England is his next target, Kane responded:
"It's funny, I've been asked this question from a few of the staff. I think to represent your country that many times is the extreme privilege. The 100 goals is maybe a more exclusive club and being a striker I think could be an incredible club to be a part of.
“I'm getting closer to the 100 now and it's there being in the 90s and I try not to think about it too much and it's like, I guess being a cricketer in the 90s, I think the more you think about 100, it's sometimes harder to achieve. I'm just going with the flow right now. I'm in a fantastic place.”
