Thirty-two-year-old German football veteran Danilo Soares is set to continue his career back in the German second division. FC Nürnberg confirmed the signing of the VfL Bochum professional on a free late Wednesday afternoon. Soares departs the Revierklub after seven seasons spent playing in the Ruhr. The Brazilian brings with him a total of 59 total top flight appearances.

Soares achieved promotion to the top flight with both Bochum and Ingolstadt. A regular part of the Bochum XI during the club's first two seasons back in the Bundesliga, he played significantly less of a role this year. Soares made just five league appearances (three starts) under former VfL trainer Thomas Letsch. At Nürnberg, he is expected to fill the role vacated by Frankfurt-bound left-back Nathaniel Brown.
