Official: FC Augsburg extend with coach Manuel Baum until 2028

The 46-year-old coach will remain in the home dugout at the WWK Arena for the foreseeable future.

Manuel Baum's contract as head coach of FC Augsburg has been extended by two years until June 2028, the Bavarian club has confirmed.

Following the final matchday of the season as Augsburg finished in ninth place, discussions were held with coach Manuel Baum.

The outcome of these discussions resulted in a unanimous decision from both parties to continue with the existing arrangement.

“After our discussions revealed that Manuel remains available for the role of head coach and is keen to take this step

"It was clear to us that we wanted to implement this. Manuel has done an excellent job as head coach at all levels over the past few months.

"We are very pleased that we will continue working together in this position,” explained FCA managing director Michael Ströll.

In his 22 games in charge to date, Baum's Augsburg have picked up 9 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses after taking over from Sandro Wagner.
