Chelsea are reportedly (Mail Sport) targeting Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapié as they want to reinforce their backline following the loss of Levi Colwill, who recently underwent surgery for a torn ACL and is expected to miss most of the 2025/26 season.

The Ecuadorian international, who can play both centre-back and left-back, would be Chelsea's ideal solution to their current injury problem, especially because of his versatility.

If Hincapié was to move to the Blues, he would meet international teammate Moises Caicedo, who recently captained Chelsea in a friendly.

Hincapié is worth €50 million, according to Transfermarkt, and has a reported release clause of around €70 million.

Chelsea would have to pay said release clause to secure Hincapié's signature, since Leverkusen are not considering a sale of their starting centre-back this late in the transfer window.
