Sky Report: Werder and Hoffenheim express interest in Union's Skarke

Sky Germany reports that - following his successful loan stint with SV Darmstadt 98 - at least two top tier German sides have made enquires about 1. Union Berlin attacker Tim Skarke.

With eight league goals and two assists, 27-year-old Heidenheim native Tim Skarke has led relegated top-tier side SV Darmstadt 98 in both goals and scorer points this season. Skarke is due back in Köpenick to rejoin parent club 1. FC Union Berlin after his latest loan stint with the Lilies expires. Sky Germany reports that Werder Bremen and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have already lodged inquiries with Union about him.

Skarke signed with Union on a free from Darmstadt in the summer of 2022, yet barely featured for Urs Fischer's Eisernen as the previous Union trainer's preferred tactical system had no need for a left slant attacker. Matters have obviously changed quite a bit in the capital city side's calculus. Skarke might be in demand at the FCU depending on the needs of the new coaching regime.

Union could choose to retain Skarke or raise some cash via his sale. The player's current estimated market worth stands at a career-high €3 million. It is not known how long Skarke's current contract with his parent club runs, but Union would not have been able to loan him out this year unless he was at least under contract through the end of next season.
