Mohamed Ali Zoma has made significant progress since joining 1. FC Nürnberg from Serie C side UC AlbinoLeffe in the summer of 2025.
After an impressive debut season in Germany, in which he racked up 14 goals and five assists in 29 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, the striker attracted interest from several clubs last summer.
However, Nürnberg opted to keep hold of him after reportedly rejecting a €20 million offer from West Ham United.
Zoma has continued where he left off this season, scoring six goals in six league appearances, and his impressive performances were recently rewarded with his first Italy call-up and international debut.
With Kicker suggesting that the 22-year-old could attract offers of €30 million or more during the winter transfer window, Zoma was asked about his future by Italian media and refused to rule out a move.
“I’m not closing the door to anyone,” Zoma told Sky (via Football Italia), adding: “I’m ready and focused, let’s see what the future has in store for me.”
Zoma also revealed that Miroslav Klose, the former Germany striker who is now the head coach of 1. FC Nürnberg, played a key role in convincing him to join the club.
“I’d spoken to him before coming here and it influenced my choice. Since he speaks Italian, he helped me enormously both on and off the pitch. And I’ve improved thanks to him,” he said.
