Bartol Franjic's loan stint with FC Shakhtar Donetsk has been prematurely cut short in order to send the 24-year-old back to his former club of Dinamo Zagreb. This was confirmed by the 24-year-old's parent club of VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon. Franjic will play with the Croatian league and cup winners for the duration of the season.

Zagreb constitutes the third loan locale for the former Croatian youth international. Since signing with Germany's green company team in the summer of 2022, Franjic has barely featured for the Autostädter. He made just five appearances under Niko Kovac during the 2022/23 season before spending the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Darmstadt.

Once valued as a €6.5 million player, Franjic's current estimated market worth has sunk to €1.8 million in the latest transfermarkt update. He did manage to score one goal in eight appearances across all competitions at his Ukrainian club. Franjic recorded one assist in 20 league appearances for Darmstadt last year.
