Alexander Blessin has been officially confirmed as the new head coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The former St. Pauli boss has signed a contract until 2028 and replaces Eugen Polanski, who was relieved of his duties earlier this month.
Blessin will be unveiled at a press conference at Borussia-Park on Wednesday afternoon, with sporting director Rouven Schröder also in attendance.
The 53-year-old has previously worked as a youth coach at RB Leipzig and as a head coach at KV Oostende, Genoa, Union Saint-Gilloise and FC St. Pauli.
He left St. Pauli following the club’s relegation from the Bundesliga last season.
Blessin will be looking to turn things around with Die Fohlen, who sit bottom of the Bundesliga table without a point after four games of the 2026/27 season.
