Borussia Dortmund's recruitment of highly prized youth talent continues this summer with the arrival of Bjarki Hrafn Gardarsson.

After the official announcement broke this afternoon, the 1.94-meter-tall center forward is initially slated to start for the U-19 team.

However, there is a belief that the Icelandic U-17 international will eventually break through to the professional ranks given his skill set.

Gardarsson joins from his home country of Stjarnan Gardabaer to Borussia Dortmund with only a training compensation fee is being paid.

“Bjarki is a striker who is physically imposing and determined, and has a good feel for the penalty area.

“We've had him on our radar for a while now and are very pleased that he has chosen BVB,” said youth academy director Thomas Broich.
