Is Kimmich Germany's right-back solution? "I don't care where I play!"

Joshua Kimmich once again stepped in as right-back for Germany's game against Luxembourg - and he showed a great performance. Should he return to that postion for good?

In Germany's dominant 4-0 win over Luxembourg, one man has "stolen" a lot of headlines: DFB-captain Joshua Kimmich.

He is back in the right-back position - and Germany showed one of their best performances in 2025. What does he think about his position change? Here are the captain's thoughts after the game:

“It was important to win – but also to win in the manner in which we did. We showed quality and mentality, which was our plan. We need to win the ball back high up the pitch and we were always focused when switching play. We showed good counter-pressing, which is of course a little easier against a ten-man opponent.”

I don't need a firm decision on where I should play – I don't care at all. For me, it goes without saying that I play where the coach needs me. At Bayern, that's in defensive midfield, with Germany it's sometimes here, sometimes there. I want to perform well everywhere and I'm happy I could contribute with two goals tonight.”
