Antonio Rüdiger could yet continue his international career after Jürgen Klopp's appointment as Germany head coach.
According to Sport Bild, the veteran defender told his teammates in the dressing room immediately after Germany's World Cup defeat to Paraguay that he intended to retire from international football.
However, the report states that Klopp's arrival has changed the situation. Rüdiger has now left the door open to remaining available for selection under the new Germany boss.
The 33-year-old has been a key figure for the national team for almost a decade, earning over 80 caps and featuring at multiple major tournaments.
