Coming off a 1-0 Bundesliga win over Augsburg, Borussia Dortmund will aim to extend their four-game unbeaten run when they visit Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Defence has been a key strength for BVB this season, with Friday’s 1-0 win marking the seventh clean sheet in 14 games.

Another positive from the victory, despite a largely uninspiring performance, was that Serhou Guirassy finally ended his five-game goal drought.

In the Champions League, Niko Kovac’s side sit sixth with seven points after a 4-2 win over FC Copenhagen on Matchday 3.

Just behind them in seventh are Manchester City, also on seven points. Aside from a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa on October 26, Pep Guardiola’s men have been in strong form of late, winning five of their last six games.

They can also take confidence from recent meetings with Dortmund, having won three and drawn one of their last four encounters against the Black and Yellows.

Team news and predicted lineups:

Manchester City will still be without Mateo Kovacic (Achilles) and Rodri (thigh).

As for Dortmund, Nico Schlotterbeck is expected to return to the squad after missing Friday’s game due to illness.

Niklas Süle (toe) and Julian Brandt (knock) are set to miss out in addition to long-term absentee Julien Duranville (shoulder).
