Manuel Neuer will make his international football return on Sunday when German face Curaçao in their first 2026 World Cup fixture. In his last press conference for the game, Julian Nagelsmann confirmed the 40-year-old is ready for the game.
FC Bayern's shot-stopper reversed his decision to retire from international football last month, but he missed both friendly games against Finland and USA because of an injury. There were initial doubts over his availability for the match in Houston before he completed Saturday's full training session without any issues.
Oliver Baumann didn't hide his frustration to lose his starting berth closer to the tournament, while Nagelsmann also conceded the difficult situation for the Hoffenheim custodian. Neuer last played for Germany in the home Euros when they were knocked out in the quarter-final against eventual champions Spain.
