Report: Bayern offer €15 million for Sergino Dest, Barcelona counter with €20-25 million obligatory purchase option
German and Spanish sources corroborate that both FC Bayern München and Barça have stepped up their efforts to acquire the 19-year-old American fullback.
On the same day that FC Bayern finally completed the transfer of midfielder Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool, the club have made an immediate offer to Ajax Amsterdam for the purchase of right fullback Serginio Dest. German footballing magazine Kicker reports that a €15 million offer has been tendered.
Dutch newspaper "der Telegraf" confirms that FCB officials were in Amsterdam yesterday and that a specific offer, much more in line with the Dutch club's original asking price, was communicated today.
Spanish club FC Barcelona have reportedly also stepped up their efforts. According to Spanish sporting newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the Azulgrana continue to attempt to work out a loan-arrangement with the Erdevisie's top club. The latest offer reportedly included an obligatory €20-25 million purchase option triggered after one-year. Barça clearly bets that they will have more capital available after the next season.
