Peter Bosz on Leverkusen's Europa League exit: 'There are no excuses'

Bayer Leverkusen crashed out of the Europa League after losing to Young Boys – and deservedly so, according to Peter Bosz.
Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz has expressed 'deep disappointment' with Thursday's 0-2 loss to Young Boys, which saw his side crash out of the Europa League.

"There are no excuses. They were the better team not just in one game, but two. They forced us to take the risk of throwing bodies forward and it costs us at the end. They defended to the hilt and we didn't manage to create enough," Bosz told reporters after the game.

"Unfortunately you can't win every game. It wasn't enough from my players tonight, we have to be honest about that. We're disappointed because we had our sights set on going far in this competition, but tonight we didn't deserve the chance.

"Tonight the emotions are different. Tonight it's about deep disappointment. It was a different game, but once we fell behind it was so difficult. We came up against a very good team and didn’t do enough with our chances."

Bosz and Leverkusen are now winless in their last four games.
