In their first Champions League outing of the season, Bayern Munich picked up a 5-0 win over Bodø/Glimt this evening. A frustrating first-half was put behind Vincent Kompany's side after the interval with Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane, Alphonso Davies and Michael Olise chipping in.

Signs of the Bavarian giants' threat were plain to see in the 5th-minute as Joshua Kimmich delivered a wonderful ball in from the right. Attacking it was Luis Díaz, but his deft header lacked the required accuracy and power to get the better of inspired goalkeeper Nikita Haikin.

Bossing 74 percent of the possession midway through the first-half, Bayern controlled the tempo while Bodø/Glimt grew in confidence. Set up in a loose 5-4-1 without the ball, the Norwegian visitors held a compact shape and frustrated their hosts to admirable effect.

The aluminum came between Bayern and the lead on 35 minutes as a long-range Kimmich strike cannoned off the base of the post. Frustrations persisted all the way to half-time – Haikin delivering two huge stops to keep both Jamal Musiala and Kimmich out again.

In a cruel twist of fate, Haikin fell foul of a muscle injury, prompting Bodø/Glimt to bring on debutante Julian Faye Lund. Just seconds into the second-half, the 27-year-old watched Musiala's venomous half-volley sail past his gloves for the opening goal of the night.

The reigning Bundesliga champions doubled their advantage past the hour. Michael Olise's run drew a foul from which his freekick delivery met Harry Kane's head from close range – a two-goal cushion which enabled Kompany to replace Musiala with Ismael Saibari.

The floodgates soon opened as Alphonso Davies arrived on the end of a corner to unfurl a rocket. Twice, Olise left Lund without a chance, wrapping up their night's work with a pair of textbook curlers from the edge of the box as Björtuft's late red card left Bodø fully exposed.
