According to Sky Germany, both FC Schalke 04 and Edin Džeko have reached a full agreement over a contract extension.

The veteran striker will undergo a mandatory medical examination which is scheduled for Sunday 2 and Monday 3, August.

Should he pass the medical,  the signing of a contract running until 2027 is set to follow immediately afterwards.

Miron Muslic had advocated internally for the signing of the experienced striker and was keen to bring Džeko's qualities to the Bundesliga.

Despite numerous other offers, Džeko decided — after careful consideration — to choose the Royal Blues once again.

Las season, the 40-year-old still highlighted his value in the 2. Bundesliga, delivering 6 goals and 3 assists in 11 games.
