Jamie Gittens has taken the next step in his development this season and has emerged as a regular starter for Borussia Dortmund under Nuri Sahin.

The 20-year-old winger's performances are likely to have attracted interest from other clubs, but Borussia Dortmund are keen to keep hold of him.

When asked what he would do if someone from another club called and offered €50 million for Gittens, Borussia Dortmund's managing director for sport, Lars Ricken, told Sport Bild:

"I wouldn't hang up immediately because that's not my character. But I would respectfully decline.”

He wouldn't say what kind of fee would make Dortmund consider selling the young winger, but simply added:

“We are in a challenging situation and we want to develop from a sporting point of view. Basically, we want to keep players of such high quality for longer. This also applies to Jamie, who has a long-term contract.”

Gittens, who is contracted to Borussia Dortmund until 2028, has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances this season.
