Reports emerged on Friday suggesting that Arsenal had opened talks over a potential move for Bayer Leverkusen and England defender Jarell Quansah.

The Gunners are reportedly keen to bring Quansah to London before the transfer window closes as they look to bolster their defensive options.

However, according to Sky Germany, Leverkusen have internally decided that the 23-year-old is not for sale.

Die Werkself are in a strong negotiating position, with Quansah under contract until 2030 and no release clause included in his deal.

Liverpool reportedly secured a buy-back clause when Quansah joined Leverkusen last summer, but their option to re-sign the defender this summer has now seemingly expired.
