FC Bayern and Aston Villa continued talks on Wednesday for the transfer of João Palhinha to the Premier League side. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 31-year-old midfielder agreed personal terms with Aston Villa.

The Italian journalist reported the two clubs are in discussion over a transfer fee. Meanwhile, Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg issued an update that the clubs are in different minds over the type of deal.

While Aston Villa are offering a loan with an option to buy, the Rekordmeister are prioritizing a permanent transfer. Accordingly, the latest offer by the Europa League winners was rejected with talks continuing between clubs. Plettenberg also added Villa already agreed personal terms with the player.

The Portuguese played 33 league games in his return to Premier League football with a loan deal at Tottenham Hotspur.  The former Fulham central midfielder has only played 17 Bundesliga games after completing his dream move to the German giants in a €51 million deal.
