Bayern re-sign Sieb and send him out on loan to Mainz

Bayern Munich have re-signed Armindo Sieb from Greuther Fürth and sent him on loan to Mainz.

Back in 2022, Armindo Sieb left Bayern Munich to join Greuther Fürth on a permanent basis.

Two years later, the 21-year-old returns to Bayern, who have activated a buy-back clause to re-sign him to a contract until 2027.

Sieb will spend the next two years on loan at Mainz, the Bavarians also announced on Monday.

“We’ve been closely following Armindo over his two years in Fürth. He’s progressed very well, especially the last season. He was among the best players in his age group for goal involvements in the second division in 2023/24," said Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund.

"Armindo is an extremely quick and aggressive player. He’s a very good fit for Mainz with his style, and the Bundesliga is now the next logical step for him.”

On his loan spell at Mainz, Sieb commented:

“I gained valuable experience in Fürth and now feel ready for the step into the Bundesliga. Mainz 05 is the ideal club for this next step because it gives young players very good development opportunities. I also think that my style of play fits in very well with Mainz's dynamic football.”

The 21-year-old attacker scored 12 goals in 33 matches for Greuther Fürth last season.
