Back in February, Bayern Munich announced that they would be parting ways with Thomas Tuchel as head coach at the end of the season.

However, after being rejected by their top candidates to replace Tuchel, Bayern now apparently want him to stay on as head coach.

That's according to Sky Germany, who reports that after meeting with Tuchel's management on Wednesday, Bayern have decided that they want him to stay.

Tuchel is understood to be keen to stay despite the public criticism he recently received from Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness, but there is no agreement yet.

The main sticking point in the negotiations is said to be the length of the new contract, with Tuchel demanding a deal until at least 2026.

Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann as Bayern Munich coach in March last year on a contract until 2025.
