With just six months left on his contract, Leonardo Bittencourt has decided to remain at Werder Bremen for the rest of the season, according to Bild.

It is already clear that the 32-year-old will not be extending his deal, which expires this summer.

Clubs from the MLS, Bundesliga and Brazil are reportedly interested in signing the midfielder as a free agent when his contract runs out.

Following an initial loan spell at the Weserstadion, Bittencourt was signed permanently from Hoffenheim for a reported €7 million in the summer of 2020.

He has made a total of 180 appearances for the Green-Whites, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists.

This season, however, Bittencourt has been limited to just 246 minutes across nine appearances.
