According to a report from the Allgemeine Zeitung, Brentford FC has supposedly expressed interest in Mainz's Kaishū Sano.
Should the English club decide to intensify their search for a new defensive midfielder “Sano is likely to be high on their list”.
Should Sano be sold after the season, two years before his contract expires, Mainz are expected make a substantial transfer profit.
In 2024, the Rhineland-Palatinate club lured the Japanese player away from Kashima Antlers for around €2.5 million.
Now it's believed the Bundesliga's 13th-placed team will demand at least €25million for Sano who hasn't missed a single minute his season.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has also been targeted by fellow German topflight side Eintracht Frankfurt, among others.
