Diaby sees himself at “70 percent” after Leverkusen return

Moussa Diaby has estimated that he was only playing at 70 percent of his top level in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-0 win over RB Leipzig just before the international break.

“I’m not at 100 percent yet. Against Augsburg, I was at 60 percent, and against Leipzig, I was already at 70 percent,” Diaby told Bild.

The 27-year-old, who returned to Bayer Leverkusen from Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad in the summer, is now looking to use the international break to work on his fitness.

Diaby added that he is generally satisfied with his performances for Die Werkself since his return, although he still sees plenty of room for improvement.

“I played well and helped the team, but I know I can play much, much better,” he stated.

Diaby and Leverkusen will return to action away at Mainz in the Bundesliga on October 10.
