Four days after leaving the pitch against Portugal with an injury, Julian Ryerson was substituted off in the 16th minute in Norway’s 2-1 defeat to Wales. Despite doubts over his availability ahead of Thursday’s game, Ryerson was once again included in the starting lineup.

Norway took an early lead in Cardiff, but Wales kept Erling Haaland scoreless as they secured a comeback victory. HSV’s summer signing David Wolfe started for the visitors, while RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa played the last 15 minutes as the ten-man Norway searched for a late equalizer.

In the other game from the group, Portugal beat Denmark 4-2 without their talismanic striker Cristiano Ronaldo. Wingers Adam Deghim and Nikolas Nartey featured for the hosts, while Wolfsburg’s Joakim Maehle registered his first international assist since 2023.

Fábio Silva, who hasn’t featured in Portugal’s squad since his debut in November 2024, was an unused sub for the Group A4 leaders. Dortmund’s striker will have one more chance to make his return before the end of the international break as Portugal host Norway on October 4th.
