Hoeness stands by Tuchel criticism

Uli Hoeness' criticism of Thomas Tuchel did not go down well with the Bayern coach, but he does not regret his comments.

Bayern Munich honorary president and board member Uli Hoeness launched an attack on Thomas Tuchel in a recent interview with the FAZ, accusing the outgoing Bayern coach of wanting to buy new players rather than develop the ones already at the club.

Tuchel reacted with "very little understanding" to the "absolutely unfounded" criticism in an interview with Sky Germany shortly before Saturday's 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Nevertheless, Hoeness has told Kicker that he stands by his statements, even though he believes the dispute has been exaggerated and blown out of proportion by the media.

At the same time, the outspoken Bayern boss seems to have little interest in refraining from making such statements in the future.

"I am determined to make my opinion clearer going forward," he told Kicker.
