1. FC Köln have completed the signing of Dutch striker Thijs Dallinga on a season-long loan deal from Bologna.
“We’re very pleased that Thijs has chosen FC. He is a striker we have monitored closely and who possesses many of the qualities we were looking for in our attack,” said 1. FC Köln managing director for sport Thomas Kessler.
“Thijs has a strong presence in the penalty area, makes good runs in front of goal, and at the same time works very well for the team when out of possession. With his experience from various top European leagues and his profile, he gives us more options in attack and brings additional quality as well as competition within the squad.”
Dallinga, who scored two goals in 23 Serie A appearances last season, commented:
“I had very good conversations with [1. FC Köln head coach] René Wagner, who convinced me that coming to Köln was the right decision.
“FC Köln is a really cool club with great fans – and I’ve always wanted to play in the Bundesliga, so I’m really looking forward to it. I want to score as many goals as possible to help the club achieve its goals.”
