Bayer Leverkusen are apparently on the verge of landing a promising attacking talent by the name of Aleksa Damjanovic.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Rhineland club has reached an agreement with Red Star Belgrade for the centre forward.

Transfer market expert Romano is also aware that Leverkusen will pay around €5million for the 17-year-old Serbian prospect.

However, potential bonuses could increase the transfer fee to up to €8million and Red Star will also secure a sell-on clause.

In the race for the U-19 international's signature, Leverkusen supposedly fended off interest from several other Bundesliga rivals.

RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim were equally keen on the talent who has already played 7 league games for Red Star to date.

According to Serbian source ‘Meridian Sport Srbija’, Damjanovic will travel for his medical in Leverkusen tomorrow, Thursday 12 February.
