According to Sky Germany's information, Bayer Leverkusen are working towards extending the contract of Ibrahim Maza.

The pay-TV channel understands that the first talks between the club and the player's representatives have already taken place.

In doing so, Leverkusen wants to send out a clear signal and keep one of its biggest talents at the club in the long term.

Maza is fundamentally open to a contract extension, with the Algerian national team star reportedly comfortable in Leverkusen.

He is also considered an important building block of the sporting future. However, this doesn't make an extension any easier.

Several clubs from the Premier League are closely following the development of the attacking player in Germany.

Interest from England could continue to grow in the coming transfer periods and ultimately force the Rhineland outfit into selling Maza.

Based on Transfermarkt.com's sources, the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the 20-year-old.
