Report: Pavard could stay at Bayern after all

Per Sport1, there's a good chance Benjamin Pavard stays in Bavaria this season, as the club hierarchy would now prefer to keep him around.
Benjamin Pavard played well in Bayern's opening contest against Eintracht Frankfurt, a performance that could decide his future at the club. Per Sport1, those around Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic would like to keep Pavard for at least the 2022/23 campaign. However, this was not the case just a couple weeks ago.

Bayern were in talks with several clubs, most notably Chelsea, for the 26-year-old. Pavard does have the final say, as he would prefer to feature more as a center-back. While Matthijs de Ligt's arrival could cause some trouble amongst Bayern's back line, Julian Nagelsmann would prefer to keep Pavard.

The French international started on the right and scored in Bayern's win over Frankfurt. Noussair Mazraoui and de Ligt were both subbed on, but it looks like Pavard has secured his place alongside Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano in the starting 11.

For now.
