Neuer aims to return to German national team in March

In response to a Bild report suggesting that he will be back in goal for Germany ahead of the European Championship, Manuel Neuer has confirmed that he intends to return to the national team in March.

After working his way back from a long-term injury, Manuel Neuer is set to return to the Germany goal in March, according to Bild.

The German tabloid reported on Wednesday night that the plan is for the 37-year-old to start at least one of Germany's next two games, and that it will be difficult for Marc-André ter Stegen to retain his starting spot for the European Championship.

When asked about a possible return to the national team following Bayern Munich's 0-0 draw with FC Copenhagen on Wednesday, Neuer claimed that the situation hasn't changed and that he expects to be back in March.

"There is no agreement. What I said in the past is still the same. I have a good exchange with the national team goalkeeping coach and with Julian. We all assume that if everything goes normally, I will be there," Neuer said.

Since his return, Neuer has made seven appearances for Bayern this season.
