Sport Bild Report: Undav's purchase clause exceeds €20 million

Germany's main sporting tabloid is currently reporting that striker Deniz Undav's purchase clause is much larger than originally thought.
As VfB Stuttgart continue to work on signing on-loan striker Deniz Undav permanently, Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid reports that the Württemberg-placed club have run into a rather large potential stumbling block. Initial reports that the Brighton & Hove Albion loanee's purchase clause totals around €12 million are, according to the tabloid, grossly understated. The 27-year-old could cost the Swabians upwards of €20 million.

Undav's rise in his first season playing top flight football in his native country has seen him score ten goals and register an assist in 15 appearances across all competitions. Sport Bild claims that, should Undav meet further performance bonuses or should Stuttgart themselves qualify for Europe, the €20 million figure could rise even higher.

Stuttgart will presumably collect €20 million or more should the purchase option in star striker Serhou Guirassy's contract be triggered this January. Undav's price may nevertheless prove far too rich for the German club's blood even if such a sum can be pocketed for Guirassy. Undav's estimated market worth has shot up to €17 million from €3 million last summer in the latest transfermarkt update.
