After spending last season on loan at Belgian side Sint-Truiden, Daichi Kamada has returned to Eintracht Frankfurt to play a key role from the beginning of this season.

The 23-year-old now reveals that he came close to a move to Italian side Genoa during the summer, but after a talk with Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter, he knew that he would be staying.

"I had a concrete offer from Genoa, I had talks with them and thought I would go there," Kamada told Bild.

"I talked to the coach during our second second training camp in Austria. From that point it was clear that I would stay," he said.

Kamada has started all three of Eintracht Frankfurt's Bundesliga games this season.
