Kevin Möhwald is set to miss the rest of 2019 after undergoing a knee operation on Monday, Werder Bremen have announced.

Werder state there is currently no expected return date for the 26-year-old, but that he will 'definitely' not be able to return this year.

"It's a tough blow for us," Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt recently said about Möhwald's injury.

Möhwald, who has made two apperances for Werder this season, missed his side's 3-2 win over Augsburg due to knee problems.
