Michael Gregoritsch would like to join Schalke 04 on a permanent deal from Augsburg when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

"I see my switch to Schalke as a step forward. I want to take the chance now and show what I can do, so I can continue playing here. No matter how things turn out, I don't want to be accused of not having tried everything," Gregoritsch told Goal and Spox.

The 25-year-old fell out of favor at Augsburg due to disciplinary issues, but claims it wouldn't be a problem for him to go back. Still, he would prefer to stay at Veltins-Arena.

"I have a contract there and would have no problem going back. But currently I'm with Schalke 04, and I'm doing everything I can to help the club and myself. And when you're at Schalke, you want to stay there," he said.
