Florian Wirtz becomes the youngest player to feature for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga

Florian Wirtz is set to become Bayer Leverkusen's youngest Bundesliga debutant on Monday evening, overtaking the record held by his teammate Kai Havertz.
At the age of 17 years and 15 days, Florian Wirtz will become the youngest player to ever feature for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga when he starts against Werder Bremen on Monday evening.

The record was previously held by Wirtz's teammate Kai Havertz, who was 17 years and 126 days when he made his debut for the club – coincidentally against Werder as well.

Additionally, Wirtz becomes the third-youngest Bundesliga debutant of all time behind Nuri Sahin (16 days, 11 months and 1 day) and Yann Aurel Bisseck (16 years, 11 months and 28 days).

The attacking midfielder, who has scored two goals and made three assists in four games for Bayer Leverkusen's under-19 team, joined 'Die Werkself' from FC Köln's youth ranks in January.
