There did exist some hope that promising young striker Maurice Malone might get his first real shot in the German Bundesliga this year. After a prolific season on-loan last year at SV Wehen Wiesbaden in Germany's third footballing division last season, some thought that the Fuggerstädter would keep the 21-year-old on the Bundesliga roster for this campaign.

It appears that the FCA think otherwise. After Andi Zeqiri was procured to augment a striking corps that already includes Florian Niederlechner, Alfred Finnbogason, André Hahn, and Michael Gregoritsch, the homegrown talent looks to be headed to 1. FC Heidenheim in the second division. This is reported by Germany's preeminent footballing publication, Kicker magazine.

Malone--eligible to play for both the United States and Germany--completed an impressive 2020/21 campaign at Wiesbaden in which he scored twelve goals and bagged a further nine assists.
