Martin Ødegaard could imagine playing for Bayern Munich in the future, according to Sky Germany.
The German broadcaster claims that Ødegaard and Bayern have been in contact on several occasions over the past few years, although a transfer has never materialised.
Now, with Arsenal having held initial talks with the Norwegian international over a contract extension beyond 2028, interest could be reignited.
The Gunners are understood to be keen to avoid Ødegaard entering the final year of his contract and potentially leaving on a free transfer in 2028.
Therefore, Arsenal would consider selling the midfielder next summer if an agreement over a new contract can't be reached, with several other top European clubs also said to be monitoring his situation.
The report does add, however, that there is no pressing need for Bayern to pursue a move, with Ødegaard not currently on their list of priority transfer targets despite the player's general interest in the club.
Ødegaard joined Arsenal permanently from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 for around €35 million, following a six-month loan spell.
The 27-year-old has made 248 competitive appearances for the north London club, scoring 46 goals and providing 47 assists.
