Official: Hürzeler leaves St. Pauli for Brighton

Fabian Hürzeler is leaving FC St. Pauli to join Brighton & Hove Albion.

FC St. Pauli have confirmed the departure of head coach Fabian Hürzeler, who is joining Brighton & Hove Albion with immediate effect.

“Fabian did an outstanding job as assistant coach and then head coach of FC St. Pauli,” said St. Pauli director of sport Andreas Bornemann.

“We knew that could attract the interest of other clubs and would have liked to continue our journey with him, but we respect his wish to take the opportunity of working in the Premier League. We wish Fabian all the best and every success in the future.”

Hürzeler, who guided St. Pauli to Bundesliga promotion in the 2023/24 season, said:

"My journey at FC St. Pauli has come to an end after four years together. I'm very grateful to the club, the fans and all the officials for the time we've spent together and what we've achieved together. It was a pleasure to be able to accompany this special club part of the way. Moving to the Premier League is a dream come true for me, but St. Pauli, and the unforgettable moments we shared, especially getting promoted to the Bundesliga, will always be in my heart."
