David Kinsombi returns to 3. Liga after a decade as he completed his move to Würzburger Kickers as a free agent. The 30-year-old will bring vast experience to the newly-promoted third-tier team.
Kinsombi played 238 2. Bundesliga games in his career, including three in Padeborn’s successful promotion push last term. The defensive midfielder also played four Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt just before joining the then-3. Liga side Magdeburg in 2016.
The versatile player left Paderborn after the end of his three-year contract this summer. His younger brother Christian Kinsombi joined newly-promoted 2. Bundesliga side Energie Cottbus from Hansa Rostock earlier this month. The Kinsombi brothers briefly played together at SV Sandhausen.
