Rosen sacked as Hoffenheim boss

Alexander Rosen has been removed from his position as TSG Hoffenheim's managing director for sport with immediate effect.

As part of a significant management shake-up at TSG Hoffenheim, managing director for sport Alexander Rosen has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

Rosen has worked for Hoffenheim since 2010, first as academy manager, later as director of professional football and most recently as managing director for sport.

“Alexander Rosen has shaped an era at TSG Hoffenheim. We would like to thank him for his commitment and the developments that he has initiated and been responsible for at TSG. For this very reason, we wrestled with ourselves for a long time before making this difficult decision,” said Simone Engelhardt, who represents the majority shareholders as interim chairwoman of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim e.V.

“After intensive analysis, however, we have come to the conclusion, particularly in view of the past few weeks, that we need a change in the club's sporting management after more than eleven years.”
