The hosts set the tone almost immediately, taking the lead inside just two minutes when Luka Lochoshvili rose highest to head home Julian Justvan’s corner. It proved to be the perfect start for Miroslav Klose’s side, who never looked back from that point.

Nürnberg controlled proceedings throughout the first half, combining attacking intent with defensive solidity. Kaiserslautern, meanwhile, struggled to get going and only showed signs of life in the final ten minutes before the break. Even then, they failed to create any clear-cut opportunities, with Jan Reichert largely untroubled as Nürnberg carried a deserved 1-0 lead into half-time.

The pattern continued after the restart, with Nürnberg quickly reasserting their dominance. Their pressure paid off in the 58th minute when Adam Markhiev doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Semih Şahin brought down Mohamed Ali Zoma inside the area. Markhiev made no mistake, calmly dispatching his effort past Julian Krahl.

With Kaiserslautern offering little resistance, Nürnberg remained firmly in control and continued to push forward. Their superiority was underlined seven minutes from time when Lochoshvili grabbed his second of the afternoon. Following a recycled corner, Piet Scobel laid the ball into his path, and the defender guided a composed finish into the bottom corner to seal an emphatic 3-0 victory.

The win marks a second consecutive triumph for Nürnberg, lifting them up to ninth place, while Kaiserslautern’s inconsistency persists as they remain seventh.
