Robin Fabinski’s first goal of the season secured a late draw for Osnabrück against Dynamo Dresden on Saturday afternoon. Lennart Grill produced an excellent performance in the visitors’ goal in his first appearance of the season before conceding the late equalizer.
Dresden took the lead before the half-time break as their captain Niklas Hauptmann also scored his first goal of the campaign. Osnabrück’s 23-year-old defender was cautioned for the third successive game before his goal in the 86th minute.
The late strike forced Dresden to stay in the relegation zone, while the newly-promoted side are in eighth place with eight points. The hosts are now without a win in three games. Dresden's solitary win came on matchday 2 against Darmstadt.
Thomas Stamm’s side will next face Magdeburg and Holstein Kiel before their cup tie against Schalke 04. Arminia Bielefeld and Greuther Fürth are the next opponents for Timo Schultz’s men.
